For the last day of our safari, the guide decided to skip the morning Maasai Mara game drive and do a boat tour at Lake Naivasha National Park.
Lake Naivasha is about half way back to Nairobi so we headed out at about 07:30 and got there at around 10:30. The boat tour was fun and we saw a lot of hippos and all kinds of water birds such as cormorants, flamingos, storks, etc. There were also many fishermen sitting in the dead trees that are in the lake. They reminded me of the stilt fishermen of Sri Lanka and made nice photos.
After the boat ride, the two couples were going to Lake Nakuru and the Japanese guy and I were going back to Nairobi. We said our goodbyes and headed to Nairobi in a normal car that had come to pick us and John the Cook up.
The ride to Nairobi took forever because we arrived during the evening rush hour traffic jam. We sat in traffic that was completely stopped for about 30 minutes half a block from our turnoff. Finally the driver jumped the curb and we made it to a side street with hardly any traffic.
