Wednesday, All Day Exploring Cardiff and Cardiff Bay

Cardiff, United Kingdom
Wednesday, April 10, 2019
It was a sunny day in Cardiff and the streets were packed with people. There was a university event and there were thousands of college kids everywhere. I walked from the hotel to the medieval Cardiff Castle and passed by the Wall of Animals. You can go into a small corner of the castle grounds without paying an entrance fee and take pictures.

After walking around in the center and going to some souvenir shops, I walked along the river all the way to Cardiff Bay. There was a wetlands area along the way, Cardiff Bay Wetlands Reserve, that was full of ducks and other waterfowl. Cardiff Bay is an area with bars, restaurants, and coffeeshops along the harbor. The old red brick Norwegian Church is also located there.

From there I took the bus back to the center. The college kids were gathering and making a ruckus and the police were out in force getting ready for nightfall.
