Checked out of the Liang Mao hotel at about 9:00 and walked one block over to the bus stop for Bus 22. Got to the station a little early so sat outside at a little restaurant and had a soy milk. Train ride was only an hour and a half.
In Jiayuguan took a taxi to the hotel which was on the other side of the city. I had a lady taxi driver and she didn't try to sell my any tours. She also used the meter which was a first.
Had lunch at the hotel restaurant. Waited til it cooled off a little then walked around town and had some food at the famous food street. After dark there was live music, tons of people, and lots of lights. I had a big plate of fried mutton and green peppers and a massive plate of noodles.
Jiayuguan looks a lot better at night when all the lights are on.
