Even though Karakol is the fourth largest city in Kyrgyzstan, it is a small city with a population of only 66,000. The tourist attractions, restaurants, coffee shops, tour offices, and other sites of interest are located in a small area in the center of the city and can be visited in a short period of time.
Dungan Mosque - Built without nails by Chinese wood carvers in the early 1900s. The mosque is open to tourists for a 20 som entry fee. Map Location: 42.497322, 78.390806 .
Holy Trinity Church - Built in the late 1800s by the Russian Orthodox community, the church is open to tourists. The official hours are Mon-Sat, 08:00 to 18:00 and Sun, 08:00 to 17:00 but these are pretty loose and depend on the ladies who are working there. Map Location: 42.489233, 78.394912 .
