Taking the regular buses in Dushanbe (not the Marshrutkas)

The regular big buses in Dushanbe require a City Card for payment. The City Card machines can be found at every bus stop and have an English option. To get a card, select 'City Card' and then the machine prompts for a local telephone number. Any phone number can be entered, such as all 1's with a valid city code. The city codes are displayed on the machine as examples. Once the phone number is accepted then money can be put in, and a loaded card will come out. The minimum is seven somonis.
