Arrived in Nairobi after two long 10 hour flights and a 9 hour layover in Paris. On the Nairobi flight, I moved to an empty row at the very back so I had an empty seat next to me.
It was cool, rainy and cloudy in Nairobi. I took an official airport taxi to the hotel for 20 USD. The taxi driver wasn't very chatty. The trip only took about 30 minutes and I got to the hotel at about 10:30. My room was ready so I didn't have to wait until check in time at noon.
For lunch I waked down the street to a cafe which accepted credit cards since I hadn't changed money yet. They were still serving breakfast so I had the deluxe breakfast.
In the afternoon, I slept for about three hours. I could have slept much longer but I forced myself to get up to start adjusting to the time zone.
I went to KFC for a late lunch and then walked to the Maasai Market next to the Supreme Court. The souvenir market moves to different locations depending on the day. On Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays the Maasai Market is located here and on the other days it is at different locations.
At about 18:00, I hustled back to the hotel since everyone says don't be out on the mean streets of Nairobi after dark. At the hotel, I went to the rooftop pool and bar area and sat around.
