It was a sunny morning in Edinburgh as I walked up to the eponymously named castle on the hilltop overlooking the entire city. The views from the top were epic even before entering the castle.
The Scottish weather was consistently indecisive as it alternated between sun and light rain every few minutes all day long. The only reliable element was the harsh wind that is especially forceful and biting at the high points.
I took a nice long audio tour of the castle complex and really enjoyed the spectacular views of the city.
After exploring the castle I went through Old Town along the very scenic High Street. Especially charming was St. Giles Cathedral and it had no restrictions on taking photos.
