In the morning, walked up to the Mehrangarh Fort which was very close to the hotel. I got an audio-guide and walked all through the huge fort. I ended up in the temple line and got a red dot painted on my forehead. For the rest of the day everybody commented that I had been to the temple. The fort had some nice views of Jodhpur and the blue city. I got to the fort at about 0900 and by the time I was leaving it was getting real crowded with large groups of schoolkids.
After the fort, I walked over to the White Palace, which is very close. It was okay and had nice views of the fort.
I walked back down the hill to the hotel and got lost for a few minutes after taking a wrong turn in the maze of alleys. My phone GPS wouldn't lock in to my exact location.
In the afternoon, took a tuktuk to the Umaid Bhawan Palace which was a bust and had no views and no good photo opps.
Had dinner at the hotel again at the fabulous rooftop restaurant. The electricity in the whole city went out for awhile so sat there in darkness and watched the candles come on around the city.
