Toulouse is a modern city with an eclectic population of about half a million people. The River Garonne flows through the city center. Toulouse is known as the La Ville Rose (The Pink City) because of its unique buildings made of pinkish terracotta bricks.
Here are the places we visited:
Capitole - The City Hall known as the Capitole has a huge square and is beautifully illuminated at night.
Couvent des Jacobins - A large brick building started in 1230 and which contains the relics of Thomas Aquinas.
Saint Stephen's Cathedral - A Roman Catholic Cathedral with a mix of Gothic and Romanesque architectural styles.
Pont Neuf - The oldest bridge in Toulouse spanning the River Garonne.
We had an excellent buffet lunch at a vegetarian restaurant called 'La Faim des Haricots' at 2 Bis Rue du Puits Vert.
