Saturday, Went from Tissa to Galle by Tuk-tuk

Galle, Sri Lanka

Tried to sleep in and made it to 06:00. Had breakfast and coffee at the hotel while the Sammy the hotel guy stood around and watched me. I only had 110 LKR so offered that to a tuk-tuk and he took me to an ATM near the bus station.

At the bus station, I went in the bathroom for a second and that's when the bus to Galle came and went. They don't pull in to the bus station they just make a quick stop on the main road in front of the bus station. A tuk-tuk driver came over and talked me into going with him to Galle for 4500 LKR. It was a beautiful sunny day so it sounded like a good idea.

We took off and made a few stops on the way. We went by some nice beaches and stopped at a big temple. We got to Galle about about 15:30 and he dropped me off at my hotel.

Later in the afternoon, I went for a walk through the fort area and it's like a different country with nice little clean streets full of restaurants and tourist shops. At sunset the electricity went off and it started raining. I had dinner in the dark at a Sri Lankan restaurant and then used my flashlight and rain gear to walk back to the hotel.
