It was a fantastic sunny day in Inverness. I started at the canal and followed the Great Glen Way as far as I could and then took the bus back. The Great Glen Way is a hiking and biking trail that stretches for 117 km from coast to coast across the Highlands starting at Inverness and ending at Fort William. I didn't complete the first leg which is a hefty 30 kms.
Catching a bus back was tricky because there weren't very many options so I had to wait about an hour and a half. Also the bus stops are spread out along the main road so I had to walk along the road next to traffic without much space for about 30 minutes. Google Maps gives the bus stop locations and the bus times.
