We spent another glorious day in Marseille. First we caught a local bus from Port Vieux to the scenic little Port Du Vallon Des Auffes, a tiny port right along the coast. The views from the bridge and the and the Monument aux Armées d'Afrique of the blue-green Mediterranean Sea and the little islands off of the coast are unbelievable.
After walking along the coast for awhile, we caught the bus back to the city center and then walked up to the Basilique Notre-Dame de la Garde high on the hill above the city. It was a steep walk up but well worth the sweeping views of the entire city, the surrounding hills, and the ocean.
