In the morning, walked over to the Udawatta Kele Sanctuary and hiked around in the woods. There were lots of macaques at the entrance but only saw a little deer (barking deer?) after that.
There were nice views of the city and the big Buddha on the hilltop at Bahirawakanda Temple.
I had the park to myself from about 09:00 to 10:00 then I started running into other people including a huge group of schoolgirls in uniform.
After the park, I walked up the hill to the Bahirawakanda Temple. It was okay but the big white Buddha is best viewed from a distance.
For lunch I went to the Muslim Hotel Restaurant and had a delicious Basmathi with fried chicken. That's just a big plate of rice with a few vegetables and a boiled egg mixed in .
I felt like they were trying to get rid of me and then the waiter said that they were closing for prayers since it was Friday at 13:00. They open again at 16:00.
In the afternoon I went to find where the buses to Dambulla and Sigiriya leave from.
For dinner I had another Basmathi at the Devon Restaurant because that was all that they had that I recognized.
